Troy –
I just purchased this watch. The heritage of Indiana, my home state, and the crimson red (Indiana University) sucked me in. The watch is sized perfectly, not too big or two small, but it wears bigger than it’s 41mm spec.
The construction is clean and finish is well done, in person it’s a gorgeous watch.
The bracelet is an attractive brushed stainless steel piece with a dual deployant clasp, end links are solid vs stamped.
My negative points of the watch are 1) the tiny non-screw down crown, 2) the pin and collar bracelet, and 3) no listed water resistance.
To get the Miyota 9015 movement charged up and working you have to wind the crown. But this crown is so tiny, and then polished smooth, it’s hard to wind.
Obviously, without a screw down crown there can’t be much water resistance but no mention is found concerning water resistance or lack thereof on the website at all. Specifications for the watch are not included with the brief multi model owner’s manual.
Pin and collar bracelets have a reputation for being fiddley to size and I just dislike them in general. Regular push pins or better yet, screw bars are far superior for ease of use.
I like the watch well enough and will proudly wear it. Is it worth the $749 retail price? Not when other boutique brands do better with the above points for the same price or often less. What sold me the watch is the marketing surrounding my home state and that is decently represented here. That red dial really is striking when it catches the light just right and the sculpted caseback with barn and corn stalks, laser engraved as proudly being make in Kokomo Indiana is where I find value.
